Gear Actuators is a mechanical device that put the system in the automatic action. Gear Actuators is also known as artificial agent or intelligent agent. In any control system gear actuators are the final element that receives low power signals and energy input to produce a desired output. It helps in moving or controlling the gear system.
There are varieties of gear actuators available in the market like linear actuator, Electromagnetic, Rotary, Electric actuator and many more.
Linear Actuator: Linear Actuator is flat and versatile in nature and has capability of high cross load bearing. In this a light but rigid hollow shaft is used as a ram shaft.
Electromagnetic Actuator: This actuator has one coil that provides energy to be transformed and field energy.
Rotary Actuator: This actuator is able to handle axial load. The main component is casting, worm gear box, and slewing ring bearing. The slewing ring bearing are consist of preloaded balls.
Electric actuator: There are two types of electric motors are generally in use one is stepper motors and other is direct motors. Stepper motors are driven by a train of electrical pulses. Direct motors are most common in industrial robots
Gear Actuators offer a wide variety of applications like switching from low power to the high power hydraulic system which are used for controlling and operating the surface of car steering, aircraft and so on. Gear Actuators are also used in PC controlled valve actuation, laboratory automation; OEM automated sampling, small valve control in production environment, and measuring devices.
